John Trafton

John Trafton was raised in Auburn, ME. He graduated from Phillips Academy in 1976 and attended Princeton University from which he graduated in 1980.

John completed his course of farrier science at the Santa Cruz Horseshoeing School in March of 1981.

John married Sherrye Johnson in June of 1985.

John is the President of Track-Rite Enterprises, the corporate name of Sable Oak Equestrian Center.

John is a “full-time” farrier with a client list of over 380 horses, all within a 50 mile radius of Brunswick, specializing in therapeutic and pathological procedures.

A lifetime member of AQHA, John currently serves as the AQHA director for Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. He has served on both the AQHA Affiliate Council and the AQHA Show Council. John currently chairs the General Sub-Committee of AQHA’s Show and Professional Horsemen Committee. John is also a Director Emeritus of the Maine Quarter Horse Association.
